Help Center

Learn how to invite Roleplay Helper, connect the premium CAD UI to your bot commands, configure a server-scoped economy, and wire shop items to roles for your GTA-style cops and robbers roleplay.

Quick start

1

Sign in with Discord

Use Get Started or Login from the home page to login using your Discord account. We only use this to show servers you can manage.

2

Pick your guild

Open Manage Servers to see every guild where you are owner, administrator, or have Manage Server. Select a guild to open its control panel.

3

Connect core modules

Enable the CAD and economy modules for your guild. The CAD mirrors your in-Discord commands, and the economy powers your shops and payouts.

4

Configure shops & roles

Create shops, add custom items, and optionally link them to Discord roles. When a player buys a role-linked item, Roleplay Helper will grant that role in your server.

Invite the bot

Visit the invite page and authorize the application. Roleplay Helper requests the scopes it needs to register slash commands, send messages, and manage roles that you may configure.

If you run into issues, make sure you are logged into the correct Discord account in your browser, and that pop-up blockers do not interfere with the OAuth2 authorization flow.

Dashboard overview

The dashboard is where you configure each guild. Use it to adjust your CAD, economy, shops, and permissions in one place.

  • Overview: quick links to core features, status, and version info.
  • CAD: for premium guilds, view and filter records created by your bot commands such as searches, citations, and arrests.
  • Economy: configure currency names, starting balances, and basic payout settings.
  • Shops: create shops, define items, and link them up to roles or owners.
  • Access: control specific systems — toggle the economy or shop features.

CAD & records

The CAD is a visual layer on top of your bot’s data and is part of the premium feature set. It’s meant for civilians and officers who want a quick way to access records, characters, and more.

Premium CAD dashboard

The CAD web UI is a premium feature. It gives officers a clear, live view of searches, citations, arrests, and other records created through your bot commands. It also allows civilians to manage their characters, add vehicles, weapons, and more!

Live view of bot data

The CAD visualizes what users create within your server. Use it to see the results of commands like name searches, citations, arrests, and more in one place.

Guild-scoped records

All records stay inside the guild that created them. Officers only see the data for the server they are working in, keeping communities cleanly separated.

Typical flows include running a name search, checking prior citations, logging a new citation or arrest, and then using those records in-character during traffic stops or investigations.

Economy & currency

Roleplay Helper keeps each server’s money separate. Use the economy tools to support GTA-style jobs, fines, and payouts without relying on a generic global currency.

Server-scoped currency

Each guild runs its own money and balances. Nothing is shared between servers, so you can customize values to match your lore or roleplay city economy.

Works with your commands

Use your existing commands to pay players for jobs, fines, or rewards. The dashboard helps you tweak base amounts, limits, or restricted roles to fit your expectations.

Clear balances for players

Players can check their balance directly in Discord with your configured commands. The web dashboard can mirror those numbers for easy-to-view data.

Shops & items

Shops are the core of your in-character economy. You design the items; Roleplay Helper handles pricing, ownership, and role changes when players buy specific items.

Guild-defined items

You design the items: cars, houses, licenses, insurance, tools, or anything else your RP server needs. Roleplay Helper just handles pricing, stock, and ownership.

Role-based effects

Optionally attach a Discord role to an item. When a user buys or uses it (depending on your config), they receive that role — perfect for gun licenses, job roles, radio channels, or VIP access.

Owner payouts

Money from a purchase can be routed to a specific owner, like a business, faction, or character. This keeps your cops-and-robbers style economy moving between players instead of a single global bank.

Example uses: gun license items that grant a license role, insurance items that grant an “Insured” role, or business ownership items that unlock private channels.

Staff access

Limit configuration tools to trusted staff while still letting players fully interact in-character through Discord.

Who can manage a guild?

Only members with Manage Server (or Administrator/owner) can open the admin dashboard for a guild.

Locking down commands

Use Discord’s Integrations > Bots and Apps menu to control which roles can use CAD or economy-related slash commands. Alternatively, you can use the permission editors through the Modules Sidebar inside your server’s dashboard. Discord’s Integration Permissions will override your custom-set permissions.

Using CAD with in-character rules

Treat the CAD as your in-character computer system. Use roles and permissions to decide who can see records, run name searches, or create citations and arrests.

Player experience

Players stay inside Discord; the dashboard exists mostly for staff and configuration — the exception being the CAD system. Your roleplay rules decide how the money, roles, and CAD data are used in-character.

Earning and spending money

Players earn money in-character using your configured commands (jobs, patrols, robberies, tickets, fines, etc.). They then spend that currency in shops you create for vehicles, properties, licenses, or perks.

Shops and licenses

Depending on how you configure things, players can browse shops, buy items, and trigger role-based effects directly from Discord. A shop item can represent things like a gun license, job contract, or radio access.

Being in the CAD

When users run commands to create citations, arrests, or warrants, this data will reflect immediately inside the CAD’s UI. The CAD is useful for a better experience to avoid using commands for each function. LEO may be allowed to search names, vehicles, and weapons, while civilians may be allowed to create characters, vehicles, and weapons.

Premium & billing

Premium unlocks the full CAD UI and other advanced tools as they are added. Upgrades are scoped per guild so each community can decide whether they need the extra features.

  • Open Manage Servers, choose your guild, then look for the Premium tab or banner in the dashboard.
  • Follow the on-screen steps to start or manage your subscription for that guild.
  • Changes usually apply quickly; once active, your users can open the CAD and other premium-only views.

If you need help with billing changes or moving premium between guilds, reach out via the support server so we can assist without losing your data.

Troubleshooting

Bot is online but commands are missing

Re-invite the bot with the proper application command scope. Then open Server Settings > Integrations > Bots and Apps to confirm commands are not disabled per role or channel. Don’t worry about data loss — we have a data restoration system set up for quick reinvites.

Dashboard shows read-only access

Make sure you are logged into the correct Discord account and chose the right guild. If the bot cannot confirm that you have Manage Server, the dashboard will open in a limited, read-only mode.

Shop purchases are not giving roles

Confirm the item is linked to a valid role in the dashboard and that the role still exists in Discord. Also check your Discord role hierarchy so the bot’s role is above any roles it needs to grant.

CAD appears locked or empty

The full CAD UI is a premium feature. If your guild is not upgraded, you will see a locked view. If you are premium and still see no data, make sure users are using the correct commands and that they’re using them in the right guild.
